ABOUT GOVIND BOMMI

Living a Life of Service, Learning and Giving

Govind Bommi is a Singapore-based entrepreneur, philanthropist, and first-time author with a professional background in engineering, global business leadership, and entrepreneurship, complemented by a deep interest in spirituality and community service.

Born in India in 1947, he pursued engineering before moving to the United States for higher studies. Over the course of his professional career, he held leadership positions with global organisations including General Electric, Celanese, and Ticona, where he served as Regional Director based in Singapore.

Following his corporate career, Govind founded Filtrex, an innovative water filtration company that earned international recognition before being acquired by a U.S.-based organisation in 2014.

Today, he dedicates his time to teaching chair yoga to seniors, supporting dementia care initiatives, mentoring individuals seeking guidance, and contributing to charitable causes through Andal Cares.

AS AN AUTHOR

In his first publication, Govind reflects on the lessons, values, and wisdom that have shaped his life.

Christian Schooling

His early education in a Catholic school
fostered a deep interest in faith, philosophy, and scripture that shaped his lifelong spiritual enquiry.

Vedanta & the Gita

Later years led him to Indian philosophy — a profound exploration of the Bhagavad Gita and the teachings of spiritual masters.

A Mother's Wisdom

He discovered that life’s deepest truths had already been quietly taught to him by his mother — long before he found the words.

"True wisdom is not merely learned. It is lived."

HIS SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

"My spiritual journey began much earlier than I realised."

Growing up in India, Govind was educated in a Catholic school where he developed an early interest in faith, philosophy, and scripture. While Hindu traditions were practised quietly at home through the example of his mother, his formal exposure to spirituality initially came through Christianity.

After retiring from business, he devoted himself to a deeper exploration of Vedanta through study, reflection, spiritual discourses, and the Bhagavad Gita.

As he immersed himself in its teachings, Govind realised that many of the lessons of the Bhagavad Gita were already familiar to him. They echoed the values, compassion, humility, and wisdom his mother had demonstrated throughout her life.

This realisation became the inspiration behind his writing and continues to shape his work today.

Guided by the Bhagavad Gita. Shaped by his mother's life.
